"When I say comprehensive timing notation, I mean that EVERY beat and bar of every song is captured using my unique timing notation system. The only thing missing is the melody in music form."

Hi, my name is Jerry Neoh and Jerry's Songbook is my invention. It was created from my desire to sing in perfect time.

I've been playing guitar and singing songs since the 1960s. I'm no virtuoso, but I absolutely love it. Despite years of practice, my technique hasn't improved much – but like golf, passion matters more than perfection!

Guitar tab sites were a godsend, giving me free access to lyrics and chords for my favourite songs. I have three folders full of printouts to prove it.

BUT there was one crucial thing these tabs couldn't do for me – they couldn't improve my timing.

The breakthrough came when I joined an evening choir class at my local college. For the first time, I sang from proper music sheets and discovered the importance of bars for maintaining rhythm.

I tried taking those music sheets home to play with my guitar, but it was hopeless. Five-page songs with constant page-turning? As someone who couldn't read music notation, it was beyond cumbersome.

That's when inspiration struck: Why not transfer the bars from music sheets to the chord sheets?

I discovered two problems: (1) bars didn't align neatly with lyric lines, and (2) many online chord charts lacked detailed timing information.

The solution was to add comprehensive timing notation to chord progressions – bars, precise timing, pauses, and note lengths – directly onto the lyrics. Without realizing it, I was creating an entirely new notation system.

After several attempts, I realized I needed to capture not just bars, but also pauses and note lengths. That eureka moment led me to research music fundamentals and develop what you see today.

My system captures every beat and bar using my unique timing notation applied to chord progressions. The only thing missing is the melody notation – but if you can hear the tune in your head, you can sing it perfectly in time.

These aren't traditional guitar tabs – they're something entirely new. With over 1,400 songs available, there's something for every musical taste.

Ready to get started? Learn the system, find your favourite songs, and most importantly: PLAY, SING AND ENJOY!
